Comments I just completed reading "The Warmest December" and I must say that I enjoyed it immensely. I particularly found interest in the "flow" of events and how they were captured from chapter to chapter. Very well written and I look forward to moving on to another of her novels. Comments I lost my beautiful 22 year old daughter in a tragic car accident on Dec.16, 2008. I will never be the same. 11 months later, her dad, my husband died in front of me suddenly. My beloved son who is now turning 22 suffered terribly and we had some very very hard times....almost too much to understand ourselves. I just read...in one sitting, Gathering Of Waters. Thank you. Ms. McFadden, you will never know the gifts you have given me with your profound words.

Gathering of Waters was the first book I have ever read by you and please, let me just say, WOW!!! That was around August of this year, and since then, I have now read two more, including Sugar and Nowhere is a place,and I am currently reading This Bitter Earth. You are, by far, one of the most creative, intense literary writers of all time. I am a huge fan of Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, and the likes. I say, you are now planted among those great. ladies.
