Bernice: I've read each of your books, and found myself engulfed in the lives of each character. Your gift of writing is UNTOUCHABLE! Your style of writing & attentiveness to every single little detail brings so much life & energy to your fiction works that it's difficult not to get 'all caught up' in the stories! Thanks for a creativity, passionate, realistic characters, and for bringing challenge to Black fiction readers. God Bless you! Oh - One other thing: Why didn't Donovan get some counseling? :-)

Ms. MCFadden: Words cant express how WONDERFUL "Sugar" was tp read. I have recommended it to all of my friends and those who I know enjoy a good, mature read. You have a fan for years to come. I am anxiously awaiting your new book. I can only imagine what things lie in store for me within those pages. KEEP WRITING! We need a change from the norm - and there's no doubt you offer the change in your style of writing. I would love to see this in a movie format. I think it would be a box office HIT! "Yo"

I just finished reading The Warmest December and I really appreciate the way the subject of abuse, forgiveness, and alcoholism was handled. I was a moving journey through Kenzie's life. This novel will make for a good discussion in a book club. I will be suggesting this novel to my book club.

Bernice, It was a pleasure meeting you this past Saturday at OurStory Bookstore. Although I had not yet read The Warmest December, I was compelled to begin reading it immediately after you read the excerpts. The dialogue that took place following the reading shows that books such as this shed light on dark situations that need exposure. I haven't been able to put the book down since I began reading it. Congratulations on a great work!

Ms. McFadden, I just finished reading "Loving Donovan" which I read in two days. A very good and interesting book. Your writing for some reason or another reminds me of Guy Johnson. Both of you are excellent writers who unknowingly compel others to find that gift that's within them. Thanks, Ms McFadden for your thought provoking and profound books.
