Comments Hey, Remember the days back the PA. With Coombes talking over the mic, quietly, to people coming through the front door and being very honest of their personalities and habits. Also the many hours, every day, you wrote songs at work at MRD, practicing on your Wooden Ruler with 4-6 rubber bands as Guitar strings/keys.

Comments Mr. Kevin Johnson, My parents took my brother and I to see you in concert when I was 10 years old. I am now now 31 and my father died a week ago. I remember being in the back seat of his car when he would drive us to Marist Brothers North Sydney for school and your music would be playing in the background. He loved your music, as do I. Comments Dear Kevin, As a long time fan, it was absolutely brilliant to see you back on stage again at the Playhouse in Mittagong and again at The Basement in Sydney. Doug Ashdown and Mike McClellan on the same bill was an incredible bonus. It was a sheer joy to meet you in Mittagong for the first time, after following you around dark, dingy cellars and other venues in the mid to late '70s. Many thanks for autographing the five CDs of yours which I have. Memories came flooding back -- it was like being in a time warp, especially with front row seats for both of the October gigs. I have taken the liberty of writing to you, after months of liaising with Doug's Manager, Rob Hall, in the lead up to these gigs. The two groups of friends I brought along to the Mittagong or Basement gigs all loved the show, by the way. Comments Which is the best Kevin Johnson album to get first? I used to hear "R&R I gave You..." played on ABC radio when I was a very small child and it's been haunting me for the last year or so even though I haven't heard it since then! Crazy, huh? Should I get that album or the "Best Of..." By the way, I'm about to go out on tour in the U.S. opening for Lucinda Williams whose music I also recommend very, very highly. Cheers.

Comments My name is Attila Horváth. I'm a professional songwriter in Hungary, deep in Europe. My first songs were released in '72. Of course in the early times I couldn't make my livin' writing songs, so I had to find some "civil" jobs. The second half of the seventies I worked in a record shop. Those years Hungary was a communistic, closed cozuntry - as you may now -, and it was not easy to get any LP's from abroad. I don't want to scribe you the whole situation for it's a long story, but I think, the record shop where I worked was the first one where we could buy and sell international rock and roll materials. Thanks for a german friend I met some of your songs then - "Rock and roll", "Scotty", "Grab the money...", "Over the hills...". For I always tried to write true and sensitive songs, it was a very nice and very important adventure to meet your lyrics. 'Cause I felt being "one step behind" too.
