Joined A Compny, 70th Engineer Battalion (Combat) in 1954 at Saalfelden, then went with 70th up to Nellingen Kaserne, Germany in 1955-1957 and finally Gyroscoped with the Battalion to Ft. Campbell, KY in 1957. Still in A Company, I left the unit in July of that year. In retirement, I am presently the 70ths' Historian.

Comments Very nice to see a home site for the veterans of United States Forces in Austria. We are not to be forgotten. What a unique situation it was. The most memorable times were at Camp McCauley during the early years, before Roeder.

Comments I served in the 516th Signal Co. at Camp Roeder in 1953-54. Also, I'm currently in their organization for past members. We get together once each year in various parts of the county just for the fun of it and to see each other again. We often find new members and welcome them aboard.
