Comments once again ive enjoyed browsing thro the website and found it a very interesting site to find out where the B17s are located, keep up the very good work, thinking to myself i just wish that when all the aircraft returned to the states they were keeped instead of scrapping them, to me at least they are the most graceful and beautiful planes that was designed, once again thanks for the pleasure i obtain from you site.

This was from May to October 1944. The number of their first plane was 238007. This B-17 was "borrowed" by another crew and they had to ditch it in the Channel. Their second plane was the St. Christopher Kids II. The crew was as follows: Richard Shields(pilot), Ralph Andrews(co-pilot), Frank Adimando(navigator), Glyn Scarborough(bombadier), Louis Fedor(engineer gunner), James Hall(waist gunner), Herschel Fogleman(bottom turret), Ted Ogle(tail gunner), Robert (Bob) Claud(waist gunner), Lee Hermansen(radio operator). My father and Louis Fedor switched positions after approx. fifteen missions.

Comments It's really great that you have established this netsite. I recently visited my brother's grave in Holland, and it was quite a moving experience. He was co-pilot on a B-17 with the 331st squadron and was shot down on a return from a mission to Munster, Germany on November 11, 1943. I would be interested in contact from anyone who knows about that mission or anyone who knew him. His name - 2nd Lt Lynn M. Oliver
