Hy im Searching for bill billet ? Maybe some one know how he is ? Every year he traveld to austria and join a military Event at a war museum and from there i know him . He see my willys and love it because it has 350 88 inf unit on it ! His unit so we talked a lot and it was really nice to meet him . He say he would come again but he diddnt so may be one know what happen ? Thx for help Peter

My dad was stationed in France, Le Haven, Germany Bremerhaven, Salsburg and Linz Austria, just to name a few. He was with the 350 Th Regiment, European Occupation Forces, Rifleman, Military Police, "D" Company, last duty station at Camp McCukley, Austria,from 1945-1950. SERGEANT 3 GRADE WILLIAM J. SIEREN. Awarded; AM. DEFENSE, AM. CAMPAIGN, EUROPEAN AFRICAN THEATER, GOOD CONDUCT,1 BRONZE CLASP, WWII OCCUPATION, EUROPE & GERMANY BAR, WWII VICTORY MEDALS. SIX-HASH MARKS /FOR THREE YEARS IN COMBAT ZONE. QUALIFIED EXPERT PISTOL, 1911-45 AND M-1 EXPERT. ALSO HE WAS STATIONED FROM FEBRUARY 30 1941 TO 26 DECEMBER 1942 IN NORTHERN IRELAND WITH THE 168 TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, GOING THRU TRAINING FOR DEPLOYMENT OVERSEAS IN EUROPE. PRIOR TO THAT DEPLOYMENT. Served in the radio repair section...some fellow repairmen were Dooley, Adamchek....arrived in August 1949 (Wels) and departed 1954 (Leghorn). Jennis Dipple was a good friend, as well as George Brown. "Pop" was the company barber with his "shop" on the first floor on the right of the entrance. SFC Anderson was the mess Sgt. Wilbur Van Horn was the First Shirt and CWO Martin ran the repair shop.

I arrived in Wels, 531st Signal Depot Co., in 1950. After arriving in Germany, I was assigned to the Zell am Zee facility (seemed like basic training all over again)...but that hotel on the lake was outstanding ! The next stop was Wels. I was a radio repairman, and my bench was in the building opposite the main workshop for TTY etc, where we also had Austrian repairmen...and the office of the OIC a CWO....but the name eludes me. MSGT Wilbur Van Horn was the top kick Some of my friends were Jenis Dipple, George Brown, (...) Adamcheck, Rodney Wehr...to name a few.... I also remember "Pop" our barber...what a congenial old gentleman he was !! any responses might help me clear away the years of cobwebs concerning my tour in USFA

My dad, Sergeant 3 RD Grade, William John Sieren, he was in France thru Germany to and stationed at Camp McCauley in Linz During 1945 thru 1950 and Salzburg. 34 Th infantry Division, 2 ND Brigade, 524 TH MILITARY POLICE BATTALION, 68 TH MP RIFLE, COMPANY, "D". HE MET MY MOM AND MY SISTER WAS BORN IN SALZBURG, IN 1948. THEY RETURNED IN 1950 MAY 08, TO USA. HE RETIRED FROM FORT HOOD TEXAS ON 01-APRIL 1962, HE PASSED AWAY ON 04 MARCH 1974.

I was in K co 350th from Dec 1953 to July 1955 then to B co for the move to Vicenza Italy in Sep 1955. I returned to Salzburg in Oct 1955 where Paula and I were married and remained together till her death Sep 8 2012. I returned to Salzburg in May 2013 and found it to be as lovely as ever. Like going back home. I would love to communicate with anyone who was there during that period.

I was assigned to BDN in Salzburg as a radio announcer when I arrived in late 1954 until I was reassigned to AFN Munich when Austria was given back to the Austrian government in 1955 by the occupying 4-countries.

Was in 258 COnstruction Co(Signal) 1LT 1952-1954, brought platoon from Ft Benning GA in Jan 1952 then joined 63rd Signal BN under MAJ Hugh Foster. Stationod initially in city of Salzbury (Camp Riedenberg.) Ran BN ski school in winters. Stayed in for 30. was COL for last 5-6 years. Retired 1981. Love VT, still skiing.
